Using Cups

A coffee cup is sitting next to my lap top (go figure hahaha).

Just out of curiosity: do you have a coffee cup within arm's reach of you right now?

Personally, I have 34 assorted cups (not including shot glasses and solo cups), and 8 coffee cups.
I use all of the assorted cups at one time or another (mostly for water) but also for margaritas, wine and orange juice. Sometimes I'll start a cup for water one day and then wake up the next morning, dump the previous day's  water cup's content into the sink, and start a whole other cup for water for that day. And this doesn't just apply to water cups it could be any liquid content.

However, I really only use 2 coffee cups. One for around the flat and the other for when I'm "on-the-go"
Even more interestingly, I have a completely different perception on the useability of coffee cups vs regular cups. In the morning I do not simply dump the contents of the previous day's coffee cup and start a new one up, but instead (I still dump the old coffee out because that's kind of degrading to drink old coffee... unless I'm out of coffee then it's perfectly acceptable) I just continue drinking from the same cup. In other words I use 2 of my 8 coffee cups and 34/34 of my random assorted regular cups.

And if my "on-the-go" cup is closest then my "around-the-flat" cup can just be forgotten to the point of collecting dust wherein the cup final warrants a wash.

In other words my water cups get washed after a single day's work while it may take weeks for my "around-the-flat" cup to get washed once... and my "on-the-go" cup may have to wait months before seeing the inside of the dish washer.

Weird.
